Weekend Getaway Day 2

Friday we headed downtown to the YouZeum in Columbia - a fun, interactive children's health museum. We all had fun doing the activities in the museum, and I like to think the kids learned something, too!

From there, we walked to The Candy Factory - a fun shop with gifts and goodies and candy and mmmmmmm, it smelled soooo good! They even had an observation area where you could watch them make delicious treats. The observation area was painted up like CandyLand. Very cute!

After a little candy purchase and a quick lunch, we headed just out of town to the Rock Bridge State Park - one of it's features... a rock bridge, as well as beautiful hiking trails and a cave system. The cave system was not open to the public as it is one that has a lot of water - and deep water - in it, but we could go see the entrance to it. The kids loved exploring and looking for cool rocks and fossils!

Tyler came across a copperhead while looking for cool rocks - yikes!

When we were done after spending several hours hiking the trails, we headed back to the hotel to warm up and clean up, then another nice dinner, a little swimming and zonked back out....
