Community Helpers

This week we are having fun with our unit on community helpers. Yesterday we started out talking about doctors. We reviewed the circle shape while we made our doctor headbands and dressed up like doctors - listening to our hearts and breathing with stethoscopes. We also reveiwed the color red while painting with red apples - AND an apple a day keeps the doctor away!









Today has been Firefighter day. We've been playing with the firetrucks and pretending to be firefighters. We made fire trucks using cut-out shapes, complete with yarn hoses! We also made some paint fires - we fingerpainted behind saran wrap. It felt really cool and we didn't have messy hands when we were done!





Our firefighters and their trucks will stay busy all week putting out these fires!





Today was also a lot of fun when we did the bean-bag boogie, listening carefully to the song and trying to balance bean bags on different parts of our bodies. It was so much fun we had to do it twice!
