Blast Off!

The kids love Outer Space week and so do I! We've done some more starry sky art - painting a dark sky with black and blue and purple paints, then adding sparkly stars!

We've talked about how objects don't feel as heavy in space because there is no "air" pushing against them and to give them an example of this, we tossed some "space rocks" (crumpled paper balls) around! Lots of fun!

Today we had fun pretending there are aliens. We made funny antennae and pretended to be aliens. We started an alien project, too - we created green paint blobs on construction paper. When they are dry this afternoon, we'll use markers and our creativity to turn them into silly looking aliens!

And tomorrow we'll be blasting off for one more day of space fun!
