Gardening

The kiddos and I have been exploring gardening this week. Kinda. Sorta. A little bit. I am not the best gardener. I kill a lot of plants. I have my whiskey barrel planters and they're still alive. I have some patio pots and they're still alive. I have a lily I've managed to keep alive for several summers now. I do not have a veggie garden this year. But, still - we've managed to talk about different things that might grow in a garden - fruits, veggies & flowers. We've explored some different plants, we've done some garden-y art, including painting with silk flowers yesterday which everyone seemed to enjoy. We've found toys in our space that represent foods you might find in a garden.

We've baked muffins with seeds in them (poppy seeds) and explored and tasted them.

We've checked on the flower seeds we planted several weeks ago. Today, we explored different kinds of seeds - looking at them with magnifying glasses and them gluing them onto cardstock so we can continue to explore them at home.

It's been a fun week so far, ending with a fun, garden-y treat tomorrow!
